VEHICLE TUNING & ECU SERVICES DISCLAIMER
Sussex Auto Tune provides ECU tuning, gearbox/TCU tuning, ECU cloning and programming, diagnostic services, DPF cleaning and emissions-system diagnostic/repair solutions.
By instructing Sussex Auto Tune to carry out any work, the customer confirms that they understand and accept the potential risks and limitations associated with modifying, programming, repairing or cleaning vehicle systems.
1. ECU & VEHICLE TUNING
ECU tuning/remapping can alter engine power, torque, boost, fuelling and other operating parameters.
Increased performance may place additional load and stress on the engine, turbocharger, clutch, gearbox, drivetrain, cooling system and other components.
Sussex Auto Tune will carry out tuning work with reasonable care and skill. However, we cannot guarantee that mechanical or electrical components will not subsequently fail, particularly where a vehicle has existing wear, faults, high mileage, previous modifications or underlying mechanical issues.
Any quoted or advertised power, torque, fuel economy or performance figures are indicative and may vary according to vehicle condition, specification, fuel, modifications, environmental conditions and testing equipment.
2. GEARBOX / TCU TUNING
Gearbox or TCU tuning may alter shift points, clutch pressure, torque limits, shift speeds and other transmission parameters.
Such changes may increase the loads placed on the transmission, clutch packs, torque converter, clutch, driveshafts and associated components.
Sussex Auto Tune cannot be held responsible for pre-existing transmission faults, wear or component failure that occurs following tuning.
3. ECU CLONING & PROGRAMMING
ECU cloning, programming and related electronic work involves the transfer, modification or programming of vehicle data.
Every reasonable precaution will be taken during the process. However, electronic control units and vehicle electrical systems can fail due to age, pre-existing faults, voltage instability, damaged wiring, corrupted data, defective hardware or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where an ECU or other control module is supplied by the customer, Sussex Auto Tune cannot guarantee its condition, compatibility or future reliability.
4. DPF, EGR & ADBLUE SYSTEMS
Sussex Auto Tune provides diagnostic, repair and cleaning solutions relating to DPF, EGR and AdBlue systems.
The customer acknowledges that faults involving these systems may have multiple underlying causes, including sensor faults, wiring faults, engine faults, excessive soot/ash loading, failed components or previous repairs/modifications.
A DPF cleaning service is intended to clean and restore the filter where reasonably possible. Cleaning cannot guarantee that a DPF will subsequently remain free from blockage or that an underlying engine, sensor or emissions-system fault will not cause further problems.
Where an emissions-related component is defective, cleaning or diagnostic work may not resolve the underlying fault.
5. ROAD-LEGALITY & EMISSIONS
The customer is responsible for ensuring that their vehicle complies with all applicable UK laws and requirements for its intended use.
Sussex Auto Tune does not authorise or recommend the removal, disabling or defeat of emissions-control equipment where doing so would make a vehicle unlawful for use on public roads.
Where a customer requests emissions-related software or hardware modifications, it is the customer's responsibility to establish whether the requested modification is lawful and suitable for the intended use of the vehicle.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that their vehicle remains suitable for its MOT requirements and legal for use on public roads.
6. INSURANCE
The customer is responsible for informing their motor insurer of any tuning, remapping, ECU, gearbox or other modifications where required by their insurance policy.
Sussex Auto Tune accepts no responsibility for consequences arising from the customer's failure to disclose modifications to their insurer.
7. VEHICLE WARRANTY
Tuning, remapping, ECU cloning, TCU tuning and other modifications may affect a manufacturer's warranty or an aftermarket warranty.
Customers should check the relevant warranty terms before authorising work.
Sussex Auto Tune accepts no responsibility for the cancellation, reduction or refusal of warranty cover by a manufacturer, warranty provider or other third party where this results from modifications or work carried out.
8. CUSTOMER DECLARATION
The customer confirms that they have disclosed any known faults, previous tuning, modifications, repairs or other relevant information relating to the vehicle.
The customer understands that tuning or modification may expose pre-existing weaknesses or faults that were not previously apparent.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is properly maintained and operated following any tuning or modification.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Sussex Auto Tune will carry out services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict any liability, warranty, statutory right or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable UK law.
Subject to those statutory rights, Sussex Auto Tune shall not be responsible for losses or failures arising from pre-existing faults, normal wear and tear, defective or unsuitable customer-supplied components, inaccurate information supplied by the customer, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
10. CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
By authorising work, the customer confirms that they:
- Have provided accurate information about the vehicle and its condition.
- Understand that tuning and programming can increase mechanical and electronic stress.
- Understand that modifications may affect insurance and manufacturer/warranty coverage.
- Understand their responsibility regarding MOT, emissions compliance and lawful road use.
- Have had the opportunity to ask questions about the work being undertaken.
- Accept the potential risks associated with the requested service.
